Prior to founding The Blasdel Group, Chuck Blasdel was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, serving as Chairman of the House Financial Institutions and Pensions Committee before being elected by his peers to serve as Speaker Pro-Tempore.

In addition to being Speaker Pro-Tempore, Blasdel also served on the Insurance, Health, State Government, Ways and Means, Rules and Reference and Economic Development Committees. Blasdel was also a member of the Joint Legislative Ethics Committee, the Ohio Retirement Study Council, the Clean Ohio Council and was chairman of the Predatory Lending Study Committee.

During his tenure in the Ohio House, Blasdel worked to have several pieces of landmark legislation signed into law. His bills ranged from tax policy to a $400 million bond program to clean up brownfields and create greenspace projects in all eighty-eight counties in Ohio.

Chuck’s tenure in the House gave him the opportunity to serve with over half of the current members of the General Assembly including twenty-five current Chairman of both House and Senate Committees, giving our clients much-needed access to decision makers.

As a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, Chuck Blasdel has always been a small businessman. Blasdel was President of Blasdel Financial Group where he was a registered investment advisor serving over 700 clients and managing over $7,000,000 in investments.

Joe Erb is a Partner at The Blasdel Group. Erb is one of the country’s foremost experts on grassroots lobbying. He manages a national grassroots campaign for a Fortune 500 Company, several multi-state grassroots initiatives, as well as Ohio-specific campaigns. Erb is also a registered Ohio State House Lobbyist with several clients ranging the business spectrum.

Prior to joining the private sector in 2006, Erb served as the Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker Pro Tempore of The Ohio House of Representatives for five years. In addition, he was the Campaign Manager for several successful State Legislative races in both 2002 and 2004.

During his time at The Ohio House of Representatives, Erb staffed the House Banking, Pensions and Securities Committee as well as the Predatory Lending Study Committee. Additionally, he helped craft important legislation such as: Brian and Aaron’s Law, Coal Safety Legislation, Local Government Funding Reform, Tax Reform Legislation and Pay Day Lending Reform Regulations.

Erb is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University. He received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science with a focus on Campaign Politics and American Public Policy. Erb previously served as an elected member of Hilliard City Council where he was the Chair of the Public Safety and Legal Affairs Committee. Previously, Erb also served on The Franklin County Republican Central Committee and served as a board member on the Parkinson Foundation Board of Central and Southeast Ohio. He is a member of The Ohio Lobbying Association, The Ohio State University Alumni Association, The Columbus Italian Club, The Hilliard Area Republican Club and a friend to the Capital Area Humane Society.

Alan Weissen is a Lobbyist at The Blasdel Group. Weissen has a demonstrated history of success in government relations. He is a government affairs consultant for a Fortune 500 Company, directs grassroots efforts in every state, and identifies key individuals for grass-tops campaigns. One of his key successes came when he defeated proposed legislation against his client at the state and local levels in sixteen different states.

Prior to joining The Blasdel Group, Weissen served as a personal banker at Wells Fargo and Santander Bank where he honed his skills in negotiation and sales. At Santander, Weissen was a top performer reaching over 100% of weighted average performance each quarter and qualifying for every bonus available.

Before his career in banking, Weissen was a successful Marketing Consultant for LocalVox Media where he helped local businesses market themselves hyper-locally and efficiently. Weissen consistently exceeded sales quotas, resulting in thousands of dollars in recurring revenue for the company and putting him on an upward trajectory towards the top.

Weissen graduated from Monmouth University with Bachelors of Arts degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. He holds many licenses and certifications including licenses for life, health, and accident insurance.
